Western Chula Vista Mobility Hub Operational Concept

Project overview

The Western Chula Vista Mobility Hub will demonstrate how shared, electric, connected, and autonomous transportation can be integrated with public transit to expand mobility for disadvantaged communities, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and lead to more efficient operations and service delivery. This will be done through connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs), shared autonomous services like microtransit and on demand rideshare, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure including inductive charging, other shared micromobility services like bikeshare, scooter share and neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs).

This strategy will build upon current planning efforts that seek to improve mobility through technology and public-private partnerships such as:

Project Advisory Group

The Project Advisory Group for the Western Chula Vista Mobility Hub includes representatives from government agencies, Chula Vista community organizations, senior services, developers, and private transportation operators. Beginning in August 2020, the group will meet virtually up to four times over the following six months. Features and services planned for Mobility Hubs vary based on the needs of the communities.
